Claire
Position: Veterinary Surgeon
Qualifications: BVMS CertAVP PgCert VPS MRCVS
I qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2008 and joined Apex Vets in 2020. I was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in 2021, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Professional Studies in 2020.
Prior to joining Apex, I worked in a number of Small Animal Veterinary Hospitals in West Yorkshire. During that time, I developed a love of all things surgical and was mentored by European and RCVS Recognised Specialists in Small Animal Surgery. I also worked alongside experienced, referral vets in various disciplines including internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and dermatology. This allowed me to gain vast experience in all areas of veterinary medicine and develop a passion for providing the highest level of care.
Having previously represented Scotland at International level as a gymnast, I am currently one of 3 women in the UK and around 10 women worldwide to hold the International (Brevet) Judge qualification for Men’s Artistic Gymnastics. I have judged for Team GB, and Team Scotland including at the Delhi 2010, Glasgow 2014, and Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. I was also selected by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) to judge at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.
At home I have two cheeky cats, Rogue and Logan.
