Ultrasound & digital x-ray facilities for pets in Denny
Diagnosing your pet’s condition quickly and safely is aided by our on-site digital x-ray and ultrasound machines, which can provide non-invasive, instant and accurate results.
State-of-the-art Ultrasound Diagnostics
Our state-of-the-art ultrasound machine allows for the safe and speedy examination of internal cavities and organs. All vets at our Denny vet practice are fully trained in ultrasound diagnosis.
Ultrasound scans are typically performed on conscious animals but occasionally light sedation can be required.
How does Ultrasound work?
Ultrasound is a safe and non-invasive way of looking inside living organs like the heart, liver, kidneys and bladder.
Our vets also use the ultrasound machine for taking organ biopsies, confirming pet pregnancies, and checking for bladder stones.
Sound waves create black & white images that allow our vets to see what’s going on inside your pet in more detail and in real-time, for a more accurate and speedy diagnosis.

On-site Digital X-ray facilities
At Apex Vets we also use digital x-ray to help us diagnose certain pet health conditions. Digital x-rays provide instant visuals of internal injuries and health problems. Being able to see what’s going on inside an animal can be crucial to the correct diagnosis and treatment, especially as our pets cannot tell us how they are feeling or which bit hurts.
Easier specialist referrals with Digital X-ray
Having digital x-ray facilities on-site gives our vets the ability to share x-ray data by email, so we can refer x-ray images without necessarily referring your pet. This allows for a much quicker diagnosis of ailments that require a specialist opinion.

In-house Laboratory
Apex Vets’ diagnostic facilities include an in-house laboratory for testing a variety of samples to ensure swift and accurate diagnosis so that treatment can commence.
Help alleviate the financial stress of unexpected treatment
X-rays, ultrasound and other diagnostic tools can be crucial to the speedy recovery of your pet. We strongly recommend taking out Pet Insurance to help you cover the cost of any unplanned veterinary treatment.
