What is a ‘Cat Friendly Clinic’?

Being a Gold accredited Cat Friendly Practice means we have ensured cats needs are always considered, and vet visits are as stress-free as possible.

This involves all staff - receptionists, nurses, animal care assistants, and vets - ensuring that everyone follows the Cat Friendly Practice Standards and adheres to these guidelines throughout the practice. These standards are set by the International Society for Feline Medication, an organisation dedicated to improving the health and welfare of cats worldwide.

By being a Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic, we offer a higher standard of cat care and follow the Cat Friendly Ethos that have been set by the International Cat Care Organisation. We have safe, secure consult rooms, equipped with everything required during a consultation. We have a separate waiting area in the reception area for cats, and our vets are more than happy to call you from your car to make your cat more comfortable. We have larger kennels for cats who are hospitalised for longer periods with a sound proof wall - separate from our dog ward - with hidey holes and soft blankets.

Our receptionists, vets, nurses, and animal care assistants are trained in the needs of cats both medically and socially and will aim to ensure that your cat's visit to the vet is as stress-free as possible. Alongside this we also have dedicated Cat Advocates who ensure the cat friendly standards are adhered to. Our Cat Advocates are Victoria, Erin, Corrie, Nicola, Amy, and Fiona.
