Animal Care Assistants
Elise
Animal Care AssistantI have always wanted to work with animals ever since I was wee, i was always outside with all the animals round about my street and asking to go out adventures to see lots of different types of animals.
I have various different qualifications from a NC in animal care an HNC in animal care and I went for a year to uni to study animal biology and science. I love to learn new things and absolutely love my job and the team we have here at Apex. I always knew I wanted to work here ever since I did my work experience and became a client!
I am obsessed with sausage dogs and I have one of my own penny so I am always going out with her. She has a fab time at home with her brofur Felix the cat and they chase each other all the time. If I’m not with the family or animals then you will find me gaming playing sims or playing Animal crossing.
Kyle
Animal Care AssistantMy Names Kyle and I live in a short drive away in sunny Tullibody. I love to take care of my guinea pigs like they are my own children and play computer games when I can.
During my time at school, usual subjects never took my interest so I left with a few highers and no real plan. After spending some time soul searching, I started working as an assistant dog groomer at a family friends’ business. I couldn’t get enough of it and believed this could be for me. This motivated me to achieve my NC in Animal Care and to start my career in the animal field.
Working at Apex is great as it gives me an opportunity to pet cute animals and get paid for it. Not to mention being surrounded by people who are dedicated to helping and loving animals.
Amy
Animal Care AssistantI’ve wanted to work with animals from a young age, was able to work at various stables growing up and when I had my own. I’ve always had cats, and I currently have 3! Also have some fish.
I went to college to do NC animal care and definitely felt like I found my niche. I applied for Apex on the off chance I’d get the job and I was ecstatic that I did. I love being a part of the team here and I love meeting all the clients and their pets.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym and doing weightlifting, going for hikes and finding new cosy coffee shops. I’d love to advance in my career and progress onto vet nursing.
Erin L
Animal Care AssistantI have worked at Apex since August 2023 and aim to progress and train as a veterinary nurse in the future.
I have worked in the veterinary industry for over 6 years doing a mixture of Reception and ACA work, so it is definitely the place I want to be!
I grew up in Carnoustie with my family and only recently moved through to Larbert with my partner Owen. I have always been around animals my whole life (mostly dogs!) as my parents have owned, shown and bred large Munsterlanders since 1995, I arrived in 1998 so I was born into my hobby which I love.
We have 5 large munsterlanders at home (Delta, Echo,Star, Koda and Forres) and more recently have welcomed a new breed into our lives and now also have 3 pembroke welsh corgis (Dream, Twix and Caramel)– And yes I do get asked if they are the queens dogs..LOTS!
I spend most of my weekends travelling up and down the UK attending championship dog shows, I am so proud of all my dogs and I have made up 5 UK Champions! I compete at Crufts every year and enjoy every minute of what I do! I started showing the dogs when I was 5 years old and haven’t looked back!
