1. Budgies
These make it to the top of Apex Vets’ list! Budgerigars, commonly known as budgies, are smart, colourful, and typically social birds. They are easy to care for and relatively low-maintenance. Budgies are known for being interactive companions and they will often mimic words and sounds you make!
2. Canaries
With proper care, these songbirds can absolutely thrive, making them a popular choice for bird keepers in Stirlingshire. They are social birds and prefer to live in pairs or groups but do not need as much hands-on interaction as other songbirds. Fun fact – the male canaries are often the better singers!
3. Cockatiels
Next on the list is the wonderful cockatiel. These gentle, friendly birds are often known for their distinctive crest on their head.
