Apex Vets’ dog ward has been designed with the comfort and wellbeing of your dog in mind. The walls are soundproof to keep noise levels down to a minimum, and the ward is completely separate from our cat ward to reduce any anxiety or distraction related to our feline patients.
We play classical music in the ward to keep our dog visitors calm, and use a calming pheromone diffuser.
We have ample kennels of varying sizes (Right up to XXL!), each lined with comfortable bedding, and water provided. Your dog will be fed, monitored, cuddled, and taken for appropriate light exercise by our dedicated and caring nursing team, until it’s time for you to collect them.
As an ISFM accredited Cat Friendly Clinic, Apex Vets has been recognised for our high level of cat care. Along with our separate cat waiting area, we also have a separate cat ward so that if your cat is staying with us for the day or overnight, there will be minimal to no contact with our canine patients.
Once your cat has been booked in, they will be settled into our relaxing cat ward, which has been designed with the comfort and wellbeing of your cat in mind.
The walls are sound deadened to keep noise levels down to a minimum, and the ward is completely separate from our dog ward to reduce any anxiety or distraction.
We also used plug-in pheromone diffusers to promote happiness in our cat ward.
Your cat’s individual kennel is lined with comfortable bedding and equipped with a litter tray. Each cat also has their own hidey hole, allowing them to retreat to a cosy, dark space or perch atop the unit for a better view. Our cat ward provides a tranquil environment where your cat can nap peacefully. They will be fed, monitored and cuddled by our dedicated and caring nursing team, until it’s time for you to collect them.
We provide experienced care and advice for exotic pets of all shapes and sizes including small mammals (hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils etc.), snakes, reptiles, fish, amphibians, birds, backyard hens, domestic farm animals and invertebrates.
Exotic pets have many differences between each species, so our exotics ward and facilities have been designed to cater for a wide variety of animals. We do however encourage you to bring in their own housing (where possible), bedding, feeding & water bowls/dispensers, food, and any vital equipment they need, to help them relax and settle in.
Your pet will be fed, monitored, and cared for by our experienced nursing team until it’s time for you to collect them.
If you wish to visit your pet whilst they are an in-patient, ask our reception or veterinary team who will be happy to help arrange this.
